Mr. Joseph A. Abbey
The Managing Director, Joseph A. Abbey, has over 27 years experience in the real estate industry. He previously served as Operations Manager of Kmark Corporation, Niles, Illinois, USA, having served as a Research Analyst with Wheeler Realtors Incorporated, Wisconsin, USA.
He holds a Masters Degree in Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management, Chicago, USA, a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin, USA, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Land EConomy from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. He also took a Comonwealth Executive Programme in Public Management at the Schulich School of Business, York University, Canada.
He is an Associate Member of the Ghana Institute of Surveyors and a Member of the Chartered Management Institute, UK.
He Assumed the position of Managing Director of TDC on April 7, 2009.
Head of Development Control
Mr. William K. Acquah
Mr. William K. Acquah is a professional architect with over twenty years of varied experience in the construction and real estate development industry covering Project Inception through to Handing Over.
As Head of the Development Control Department, he exercises overall managerial control of all the Corporation's projects as well as the Project Team comprising all architects, planners and engineers.
He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Architecture and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural Design from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. In addition, he has certificates in Team Building and Project Management.
He is an Associate Member of the Ghana Institute of Architects.
Head of Legal
Mr. Kwabena Sarfo-Agyekum Nyanor
Mr. Kwabena Sarfo-Agyekum Nyanor is the Legal Head of Tema Development Corporation.
Mr. Nyanor holds a BA Hons in Law and Sociology from the University of Ghana and Barrister at Law from the Ghana School of Law. In 1994 he qualified as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana.
Kwabena's practice cuts across private and Corporate Law. Though a general practitioner, he has over the years been invoved with civil and criminal law, general litigation, law of natural resources and international Corporate Practice which makes him one of the versatile legal brains in the country. His rich experiece from his legal practice brought sanity and changed into the legal department and TDC as a whole.
He has ensured strict compliance with TDC's legal policies and procedures.
Mr. Nyanor's passion is to strive to ensure that the legal aspect of TDC's operations is not seen as a bottleneck. He brings on board a depth of legal expertise and Management experience.
General Manager, Finance & Administration
Mr. Al-Mumin Yakubu
Mr. Abdul-Mumin Yakubu, a Chartered Accountant by training is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana).
Mr. Yakubu has successfully completed courses and research for the Master of Science (MSc) Accounting and Finance at the University of Northampton,UK alongside reading Commercial and Corporate Laws of the English Legal system.
He joined the Corporation in 1995 as an Audit Clerk and ranked through the positions of Audit Supervisor responsible for Business Risk Management and Internal Control Systems in 2000. He was promoted as Finance Manager in 2005 and later to the Head of Finance.He is currently the General Manager, Finance & Administration of the Corporation.
He is a strategic thinker and combines a big picture perspective with analytical skills in evaluating and recommending corporate funding and recovery strategies.
Renowned for his ingenuity in Business Process Improvement, Internal control and Risk Management system, Mr. Yakubu double as a Lecturer in Accounting, Audit and Internal Review at Zenith University College,La Accra, Ghana. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Kanokoli Rural Bank,Bole,Northern Region.
General Manager, Operations
Mr. Samuel O. Asante
Mr. Asante joined TDC in February 2008. Before joining TDC he had worked in various capacities in different organizations. Some of the Positions he had previously held include Treasury Sales Manager, Gold Coast Securities Limited; IMC member NTHC Properties limited, Head of Asset Management, NTHC Limited; Head of Marketing, Fidelity Discount House and Head of Sales, Fidelity Bank Limited.
As General Manager Operations, Mr. Asante's main role is to lead the operations team in growing TDC's business in the housing and serviced plots portfolios as well as ensuring high standards of service delivery to the Corporation's valued clients.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com) Degree and Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Leicester, UK.
Mr. Asante is also a Certified Member (MCIM) of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) and the institute of Directors, Ghana (MID).
Head of Administration
Mr. John Felix Wardy
John Felix Wardy joined Tema Development Corporation in June 2006.He began his career in the judicial service of Ghana.In 1992 he joined the judicial service of Ghana as an Assistant Registrar.
In 1999, John was assigned the position of Circuit Court Registrar attached as a probationary position awaiting confirmation as High Court Registrar.
In 2000 he was promoted to the rank of High Court Registrar attached to the District Court.Here,he was in charge of the day-to-day runing of the court and the personnel attached.His schedule include preparation of affidavits,writs of summons,conducting marriage ceremonies,strategically enforcing the orders of the court such as writ of fifa,absconding warrants and Garnishee order.
In 2005, John as a high court Registrar was attached to High Court I,II,III and IV.Here,John served as deputy administrator for four different high courts.Quite apart from performing similar duties outlined he was also in charge of wills,settlement of appeal records and also doubled as a Commissioner for Oaths.
In 2006, he resigned from the Judicial Service to join Tema Development Corporation.
John holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the University of Cape Coast and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Ghana,Legon. John is also a memeber of the Institute of Human Resource Practitioners (Ghana).
Chief Internal Auditor
Mr. Daniel K. Ayaim
Chief Internal Auditor, Mr. Daniel Kwamena Ayiam, joined the Corporation in November 1985 as Internal Audit Assistant. However, he had taught for a year prior to joining TDC.
In pursuit of higher heights, he undertook a two-year Diploma in Accounting programme at the University of Ghana, Legon and became Audit Supervisor in June 1994.
He obtained a B.Sc Degree in Administration (Accounting Major) in 1999 and has attended a number of conferences and workshops in Finance and Auditing.
He wrote on the topic "The ECOWAS Regional Integration and Institutional Capacities in Member Countries - The case of Audit Institutions in Ghana" for his Masters Degree in 2006.
Curremtly he holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree in Finance from the University of Ghana. He is a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (USA and Ghana).
Head of Estate
Mr. Kwasi Darko Asare
Mr. K. D. Asare Joined the Corporation in 2011 as Estates Manager and became Head of Estates in August 2012. He began his professional career at the Office of the Administrator of Stool Lands (OASL) in 1999 and served in many capacities. From 2008-2011, he continued as a Project Coordinator at LANDPRO Consulting Limited where he provided technical support to Newmont Ghana Gold in areas of Environmental permitting for Environmental Impact Statement, compensation, valuation, land access, land management and general land matters.
As the Director of Estates, Mr. Kwasi Darko Asare is responsible for managing and supervising the Estates department as well as establishing measures for the management of all TDC’s lands and housing units to ensure the Corporation achieves maximum benefits.
He holds a Master of Science Degree in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation for Natural Resources Management specializing in Planning and Coordination from the International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation in Enschede, the Netherlands. He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Land Economy from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and is also a Professional Member of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (Gh.I.S).
Head of Procurement
Mr. Stephen Yeboah-Ampedu
Stephen Yeboah-Ampedu has served the Corporation in three different capacities.First as Town Planner and promoted to Supervising Town Planner and now holding the portfolio of Ag. Head of Procurement.
He graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Development Planning in 1989 and also obtained Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) Degree in Project Management from the University of Ghana Business School in 2004.
He has remained active in the public service consultancy in the areas of Public Procurement Benchmarking, Monitoring & Evaluation, Community-Based Rural Development and Project Management.
Head Of Corporate Planning & PRO
Mr. Christian Kweku Appiah
Mr Christian Kweku Appiah who joined the Corporation in February 2011, is a product of the Institute of Professional Studies (IPS), Legon, Ghana and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA, UK). He has to his credit over forty years of working experience spanning a broad spectrum of industries, including manufacturing, cargo handling/port operations, construction, management consulting, training, print media, and now real estate. He worked closely with consultants during the World Bank financed Ghana Ports Rehabilitation Project and became an active member of the Corporate Planning Team of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority. During his tenure with the Ports Authority and subsequently, he participated in several management development training programmes both locally and overseas, cutting across all facets of management. At the various places that he worked in both the public and the private sectors, he held positions such as Senior Internal Auditor, Management Accountant, Accounts Manager, Finance Manager and also served on a number of high level Technical Committees. He also had a stint with the Institute of Professional Studies, as a part-time lecturer in Financial Accounting Management Accounting, Corporate Reporting and Strategic Financial Management, preparing students for various professional accountancy examinations. Mr. Appiah is versatile and result-oriented.

Mr. Emmanuel Darkey
